Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 3, 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage and tracking pixels) that Festopia uses on festopia.com, what they do, and how you can control them. It describes what our site actually does today.
Necessary (always active)
These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off. They include your sign-in session, your checkout session token, your saved room/traveler selections, payment processing with Stripe, security and fraud prevention, and the cookie that remembers your consent choice. They are first-party and are not used for advertising.
Analytics (optional)
Used to understand how visitors reach and use Festopia so we can improve pages and booking flows — for example Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager and, where enabled, session quality tooling. These load only after you allow the Analytics category.
Advertising (optional)
Used to measure the performance of our advertising and to show relevant Festopia ads — for example the Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) and Google advertising tags. These load only after you allow the Advertising category. If you decline, the Meta Pixel is never loaded, so its _fbp / _fbc advertising identifiers are never created.
Attribution and referral links
When you arrive from a brand-partner link, a group-booking invite or a saved cart recovery link, we store a first-party record so your booking is credited correctly and so your cart and support requests can be found. That record is operational — it is what makes referral credit, group bookings and recovery links work — and is kept in the Necessary category. It is not shared with advertising networks.
Campaign tags in a URL (such as UTM parameters) are recorded first-party for our own reporting. Advertising click identifiers created by ad platforms (such as Meta's _fbp/_fbc) are only ever created when you allow Advertising, and we clear the ones we can reach from our own domain if you later turn Advertising off.
Conversion measurement after a purchase
When a booking or Event Pass purchase is completed we send a server-side purchase record to Meta so our own advertising reporting reflects real, confirmed sales. If you declined Advertising, no advertising click identifiers exist for your visit, so that record cannot be matched to an ad click or used to build advertising audiences from ad-click data.
How your preferences are stored
Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie named fst_consent for up to 180 days, together with a policy version and timestamp. If this policy changes materially, the version changes and we will ask you again.
Changing your preferences
You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer of every page, or here:
Turning a category off stops future use of that technology and clears the first-party cookies we are able to remove from our own domain. Cookies stored by a third party on their own domain can only be removed through your browser's site-data settings or that provider's own controls.
